christmas list

A holiday gift guide wouldn’t be complete without sharing what I asked Santa for Christmas. The other day I was thinking back to Christmas as a kid. How my parents would give my sister and me a catalog from Toys-R-Us (before the internet) and I would circle everything. Of course, I didn’t get everything that I wanted. I probably forgot what I circled by the time Christmas morning rolled around, or even when it was time to write my list to Santa. But as a kid, my wants were endless. Now as an adult it becomes harder to think about what you want. I can easily go out and purchase everything on my list. And my presents are fewer than as a kid. I get one gift from Santa, one gift from my parents, and one gift from my sister and brother-in-law. And I am perfectly happy with it. Christmas becomes more about memories and spending time with family than it does about gifts as you get older. As much as I miss the excitement of presents as a child, I think Christmas holds more meaning as an adult. With that being said, I am not one to pass on receiving a gift. So here is my Christmas list this year. All I want for Christmas is you….

Dolly Parton Songteller: My Life in Lyrics: If you have been following me for a while then you know that I am a huge fan of Dolly Parton. I mean, who isn’t! Not only do I love her music and listen to it regularly, but I also love Dolly herself. How she is still humbled by her upbringing and gives back to the community. How she isn’t afraid to poke fun of herself while standing up for herself and getting what she deserves. How she has a strong belief in God and the good in people, makes her one of my biggest role models. When I heard she wrote a book about the history of her songs and stories of her life, I knew I had to have it.

Nicola Bathie Stud Collection Embellished + Pearl Center: The moment I stumbled upon Nicola Bathie’s Instagram page, I instantly fell in love with her jewelry and her entire aesthetics. I’ve been swooning over every piece since that day and have been dying to own a pair of her earrings. These embellished pearl studs are stunningly gorgeous and would be lovely to wear to special occasions, events, date nights, or a night out with friends.

Outdoor Voices The Exercise Dress: When Outdoor Voices introduced the exercise dress it became a cult classic. It’s a great dress to have during the summer season to lounge in or perhaps play a match or two of tennis in. It has a built-in bra and shorts for coverage and support. I will probably have to wear a sports bra underneath it for extra support. Anyway, I actually bought the exercise dress at the beginning of the pandemic in lavender. Although I loved the dress the color wasn’t right for me so I returned it. I knew I wanted to get another one, and definitely in a darker color, but never got around to repurchasing it. So now the dress is on my Christmas list, but this time in the navy.

Nevaeh White by Fitz and Floyd Grand Rim Salad Plate: If Marie Kondo were to ask me if my current plates and bowls gave me joy, the answer would be no. My dinnerware set does not spark joy. I am embarrassed to admit that they are a combination of plates and bowls accumulated throughout the years from college and past roommates. I despise looking at them. I don’t know why I never got around to switching them out for dinnerware I want. Now I am on a mission to spark joy every time I open my cupboard. I asked for an affordable white dinnerware set as it is just me living in my studio apartment. I figured once I get married I can switch over to a nicer set.

Percussion Massage Gun: Have you ever tried a massage gun? They are heavenly. I have been wanting a massage gun for a few years now. As someone who exercises regularly and has back issues (along with shoulder and thigh issues), a massage gun is a necessity in my book. I chose the Percussion Massage Gun because it has different intensity levels; so I can go for either a deep tissue massage or turn on a lighter setting to warm up my muscles. It also comes with different massage heads to help target certain areas of the body. I hope Santa leaves this under the Christmas tree this year!

Bow Phone Case: My current phone case is broken and I am in need of a new one. I love the feminine, simplicity of this bow phone case.

Loeffler Randall Zadie Feather Top Handle Bag: I have been eyeing this feathered bag for over a year now. It’s definitely a want more than it is a need but look how pretty it is! I already have a few outfits that would go perfectly with this dream bag. This may be more of a self Christmas gift than one Santa will leave under the tree, but I have been very good this year!

Chloé ‘Love Story’ Eau de Parfum: Without even realizing it I have become a collector of perfumes. From Chanel to Carolina Herrera to Jo Malone, I have accumulated many different scents over the years. Although I have a few bottles to choose from, Chloé’s ‘Love Story’ Eau de Parfum is my signature scent. It’s the one I turn to for nights out, dates, special occasions, etc. The one I will probably wear for the rest of my life.
