“Move through life like you still believe you can do anything”

Happy Friday! The leaves are finally starting to turn here in the city. When you walk around there is an array of colors that turn the streets into a picturesque painting. I think a picnic in Central Park is in my near future.

Last weekend I was googling day trips to take to get myself out of the city but ended up going uptown to the Upper West Side. I haven’t been to the UWS (besides getting off the subway to enter the park) for over a year. I can’t remember the last time I walked up and down Amsterdam Avenue. It’s been years. There has been a lot of talk of an uptick in violence happening in the UWS over the past few months, so I was a little cautious in going. Honestly, it was completely fine. I didn’t feel nervous or passed by anyone of suspicion. In fact, the entire UWS was buzzing! There were so many people out and about, enjoying the fall weather. It was so nice to see! I frolicked around the UWS looking at holiday decor. People decorating their stoops with pumpkins and autumn flowers. Some getting into the Halloween spirit with witches, skeletons, and ghosts. I wish I had a townhouse with a big stoop to decorate for each holiday. Someday I will.

Besides roaming around the streets snapping pictures of pumpkins, this past week I finally had a photoshoot. I have been trying for almost a month to have a shoot but it was either rescheduled due to rain or I couldn’t get my schedule lined up with my photographers. This time I worked with Allie, from Pret.a.Photo. Allie is a blogging friend of mine who happens to also be a very talented photographer. I have worked with her before and love how creative she is. I haven’t seen Allie since before the pandemic, like the rest of my blogging friends. I wanted to schedule a shoot with her so we could catch up. It felt so good to chat with a friend again! I am starting to get lonely in my studio apartment only speaking to my parents, baristas, and grocery store workers. I think we are all at our wits’ end with quarantine; being bored and lonely. Having even an hour to shoot with someone really brightens my week. Also getting dressed and putting on makeup put me in the BEST mood.

My photoshoot was probably the highlight of my week, I am sad to say. Remember events, dinner with friends, weekend gatherings? I miss those. Allie and I talked about how much we miss events. How we used to sometimes complain about having too many events to go to. Now I would rather have that problem than twiddling my thumbs every week. Count your blessings! I pray that this time next year we will be back to normal.

What I am watching: I finally finished Hart of Dixie. It is a cheesy show, but that is what I liked about it. It has a lot of heartfelt moments and I grew to really love the characters. Even though Zoe (played by Rachel Bilson and the main character) annoyed me throughout the entire series. It’s a lighthearted show that has Stars Hollow vibes of a small town that bands together and feels like family. I recommend it if you need a new show to watch.

I started watching the Netflix reboot of Charmed. I didn’t watch the original except for a few episodes and maybe a scene here and there while channel surfing. I don’t know what made me want to watch the reboot, but here I am. It’s only two seasons (and counting) and it is about witches….. ‘Tis the season. I am only on episode 4 but I do like it! Maybe after I watch the reboot I will go and watch the original.

What I bought this week: I put on my IG stories asking for your opinions on which sweater I should buy. It was between this hazelnut sweater and this pink and yellow plaid sweater. The majority of you picked the hazelnut sweater, so that is what I got! To be honest I was surprised by the outcome. I thought the pink and yellow sweater was going to win, but I was wrong! I do love both sweaters so I am happy with the outcome! I am excited to style the hazelnut sweater for a photoshoot, and maybe even wear it on Thanksgiving Day.

This weekend is going to be an exciting one as Ohio State Football is finally playing! Normally I do not watch every game of the season, but I think since this year is cut short I will. It’s a noon game, so there goes the majority of my Saturday. Not sure what I would be doing instead, maybe travel to the UES this time or upstate for the day. Who knows! I still have Sunday to frolic around and snap fall decor. Besides pretending to understand what the rules of football are, I will be having another Halloween movie marathon. Last weekend I watched Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic. This weekend I want to watch both The Addams Family movies (the ones from the ’90s). Other than watching hours of TV, I will be going for a run. I am really loving my Friday afternoon runs. It is a great way to unwind from the week, get some fresh air, and sweat a little before the weekend. I also have a book to finish and hopefully a trip to the bookstore to pick out a new one.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
