“God has a plan for you and it’s good. Don’t rush anything, in God’s perfect timing it will be.”

Happy Friday! We made it through the first real work week of the year, and boy was it tough to get back into the swing of things! I am, however, glad to be back in a routine, working on my blog again, and being out and about in New York.

January is usually slow in terms of events for blogging. Everyone is getting their bearings for the new year, so not much goes on. I did attend a play this past week called Grand Horizons. I much prefer musicals to plays, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It was funny, sad, relatable, happy–all of the emotions. Ben McKenzie who played Ryan Atwood in The OC was in it. It was pretty cool to see him on stage acting since I have been watching him on TV since The OC first premiered in 2003. Other actors in the play were Ashley Park, who I saw in Mean Girls The Musical and absolutely love her! She is someone to watch, going to do great things! I googled her to see if she has won a Tony Award, but she has only been nominated for her role in Mean Girls. I feel like she will get her Tony very soon! Michael Urie who is in Younger, Ugly Betty, Modern Family, and other roles including on-stage performances, was phenomenal! I was truly impressed by him. Another famous name you may recognize is James Cromwell, who has been in many movies like The Green Mile, and TV shows, most recently Succession. I just started watching Succession (highly recommend), so it was pretty cool to see him in person.

Anyway, Grand Horizons is about a husband and wife of 50 years who decide to get a divorce. Their children, played by Ben McKenzie and Michael Urie, try to reconcile their parent’s relationship and get to the root of the cause of why they want to separate. In a funny yet sad turn of events, Grand Horizons has a great message of importance; that communication is key in all relationships and friendships, that love is shown in different forms, how we need to listen to each other’s wants and needs and express our own, and to have no regrets in life. It’s a play I highly recommend seeing, but a little warning- there is foul language and vulgarity, so not suitable for children.

Besides seeing the play I have been trying to get back in the swing of things. The Bachelor started on Monday and I am SO excited for this season! Honestly, I hope Peter and Hannah Brown end up together. None of the girls on the show really impressed me night one. Usually, as time goes one I will start to like some of the contestants. Night one I am not attached to any of them– although I do have a few that I think I will end up liking, and definitely some I can’t stand.  Anyway, I have always been a fan of Peter’s and am excited to see him as the Bach. I think Peter is the perfect man- he is handsome, always happy, fun to be around, smart, genuinely nice and caring, great family, etc. AND he wore a bow-tie night one, I am a sucker for a man in a bow-tie!! I will once again be joining a Bachelor Pool, betting on the contestants each week for a grand prize at the end. Wish me luck!!

Yesterday afternoon I went to acupuncture at WTHN for my neck, shoulder, and finger. The left side of my neck/back has been bothering me. I had issues with it this past fall of it feeling overworked. I am trying to be better this year with recovery days. Maybe try working out less, but working out smarter. Meaning to not overdo it and listen to what my body needs. I have been foam rolling and using the pressure ball, but it was not relieving any of the pain I felt in my shoulder blade and neck. It now feels a lot better. I took another day off of working out today because, well, I needed another recovery day, and second of all, I was too impatient to wait for my workout class so I canceled it. I don’t know why I thought that was a good idea, but I did. You are probably wondering about my finger issue. Back in November, I woke up in the morning with terrible pain in the middle finger on my right hand. I brushed it off, assuming I slept on it wrong. Yet here we are two months later and I am still experiencing pain. And no, I am not overly flipping the bird to people. I could/can move my finger without difficulty, but there is pain in doing so. Also while I worked out I had a fear of doing something that would break it, it felt that fragile. My acupuncturist thinks it is out of alignment, so she tried to adjust it a little before sticking a needle in it.  It is feeling much better but I am still cautious of the area.  Unfortunately, after my acupuncture, I was wiped out for the rest of the day. I was extremely tired, felt dizzy and nauseous. Acupuncture releases the toxins in your body and because of that I felt so sick. I have gone a bunch of times before and felt tired/ a little dehydrated, but never like this.

*I have had some people DM me with questions about WTHN. They do have a membership where you pay $75 each month for one appt. but adding on extras like cupping for free. You can still go without being a member for $85 a session, but no add-ons. There isn’t a day pass you need- just head to their website and sign up for a single appointment like you would for a hair appointment. I love acupuncture and recommend it to everyone– it has a lot of wonderful benefits.

This weekend I have nothing in particular planned. I am going to FINALLY see Little Women tonight! I was trying to see it last weekend but most showings were sold out. Ah, I can hardly wait! Other than that I will be working out, starting to prep for NYFW, and enjoy the warm weather we will have here in the city. It’s supposed to be in the 60s here. I want to be out and about as much as I can to enjoy it!

Have a wonderful weekend xo
