Happy Friday! There is a lot to celebrate; The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started today, Bastille Day is this Sunday, and Nadal vs. Federer / the Wimbledon finals are happening. Too much excitement for one weekend, let me tell ya! I have been watching Wimbledon all week long. I really hope Federer wins but if not I am happy with the other players- Nadal, Djokovic. Serena will obviously win for women’s, but Halep will give her a challenge.  I am SO sad Serena and Murray are no longer in the mix doubles, I was loving them playing together. Tennis is the Tony Awards of sports. Everyone supports each other and it is so nice to see.

Besides gearing up for the Nordstrom Sale and cheering on my favorites at Wimbledon, I’ve spent most of the week trying to catch up on work after the holiday. Even though I was home for a week I wish I had stayed for a few more days. The week went too fast and a lot of things were happening (the 4th and my reunion), that I wanted another day or two to just hang. But it is nice to be back in the city, back to my routine. Last weekend was my high school reunion and I had an absolute blast! I really did! It was nice to catch up with friends, see people I haven’t seen in probably 5 years, and just be around people who have known me my whole life. I think everyone was having a good time. As mentioned I am/was on the planning committee for it, and I have to toot my own horn, I think we did an excellent job putting the event together. My friend Lindsay is a freaking Martha Stewart, she got really crafty with the decor. I am happy that I went and am already thinking of ideas for our next reunion in 5 years– yes my high school does reunions every 5 years…

Upon returning I have slowly eased back into working out. Even though I went to System of Strength (only once) when I was home and road my bike almost everyday with my dad, my body was acting as if I haven’t worked out in months. Yikes it was embarrassing. I was smart in starting off the week with yoga, detoxing my body while stretching and moving around. Then did low-impact workouts like sculpt class at DanceBody and pilates. The only cardio I did was in Megan Roup’s class, which felt good to do but also hated my life while doing it. I haven’t tried a new workout in a while and am currently searching through Classpass to see what it out there. I want to try another HIIT workout, also try something completely different like water aerobics or martial arts. Anything really. My friend Sarah, from City Fit Life, has started teaching at Precision Run. I have yet to try it and want to.

Wednesday morning I had a meeting with Eileen Fisher to view their fall collection. Eileen Fisher is a sustainable brand and I am always impressed with how they reuse material. I wrote about them on my blog post this past week about what sustainable brands to shop. Eileen Fisher also accept your old EF clothes. You can drop them off at any Eileen Fisher store and they reuse the material for new garments. In the fall collection, a few of their garments are made out of recycled plastic water bottles, and the items feel like SILK. I was blown away– someone out there has some pure talent! They have a lot of cute items for fall. The coloring of some of the clothing are simply beautiful. The palettes are muted off-colors so like an olive green or salmon. Very pretty!

Thursday afternoon I had a meeting with Ann Magnin PR for a preview of new lines such as accessories, food, skincare, clothing, and more. I tried honey flavored ketchup…. and I liked it! It tastes almost like beet ketchup (which I love) while still tasting the tomatoes. Very good! It’s from a company called Catskills Provisions. They make every honey infused, even whiskey. Give me alllll of the honey, honey. Another brand that I was into was Figleaves, a lingerie and swimwear company. They had some really cute PJ sets.

This weekend I have nothing planned and I am happy about it. I’ll probably go to the park to lay out, read my book, watch Wimbledon and finish Stranger Things 3, continue to catch up on work, and so on.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend xo
