Happy Friday!!  I am in complete Christmas mode– watching holiday movies, listening to Christmas songs, shopping for gifts, decorating, etc. I love this time of year! It truly is so magical and full of love. The holidays, although a wonderful time, is also pretty busy. With so many holiday parties and events, last minute work to finish up before break, getting in as many holiday activities, as possible, it can all be a little overwhelming. I just keep telling myself that in a little over a week I will be back at home with my family  celebrating the holiday in a much calmer manner. Busy or not, I love every single moment of celebration.

Monday I went uptown to The Palace Hotel for the Molton Brown event. The Palace is a beautiful hotel, which I have been to numerous times, but never in an actual room (only the lobby or bar area). Obviously if I were to stay at The Palace I wouldn’t be staying in the massive suite where the event was held. We took an elevator up and down the 3 floors of the one suite. Talk about goals! Anyway, the event was really lovely. They had a pianist playing Christmas songs, we were able to create our own wreaths (mine is currently hanging on the front door of my apartment), and a magician. I am all about magicians, I love that stuff! When I was a kid I wanted to be a magician/comedian (basically David Copperfield) when I grew up. I had this Aladdin magician play set that I would perform with for my family. Needless to say this career goal didn’t last very long. I am still to this day intrigued by magic though. Yes I know it’s all tricks, but what fun it is! Anyway, the magician did the age old trick of taking my ring, making it disappear, then reappear on his keychain. Blown away! I also watched him guess the name of the person you picked out on your cellphone. HOW on earth did he guess correctly, I need to know! What a great party trick to do!

Tuesday was madness. I had 3 events to attend and somehow I made it happen within 2 hours. The first event I went to was Kendra Scott x Finery. Finery (you may remember I worked with them this past NYFW) is a shopping app that helps you pick out your outfit. Think Cher Horowitz when she was getting ready to go to school and used a program on her computer to pick out an outfit. It’s close to the same thing, except your body is not a mannequin. I didn’t realize back in September for fashion week and when I first started to use the app that is was co-founded by Brooklyn Decker. Anyway, the party was great and I wish I could of have stayed longer. Christy, from Christy’s Garden formally known as Crowns by Christy, had a station where you could make bouquets. I have not seen Christy in a while so it was nice to catch up with her. I wanted to chat longer but I had other places I needed to show face at.

After Kendra Scott I went to Winky Lux for their holiday party. The event was held at their Soho store which is part store, part fun house. There you could make your own eyeshadow palette as well as shop their collection. I unfortunately did not have the time to make a palette but I did enjoy chit chatting with friends. After Winky Lux I went over to Meatpacking for the Trina Turk x Ashley Nelson event. I LOVED seeing my bestie 2 days in one week! Ashley travels A LOT– like she is never in town, you may have noticed from her Instagram. She travels more than anyone I know and I give her so much credit for exploring the world like she does. So seeing Ash twice in one week is truly a treat (we went to brunch this past Sunday). Every event that night was fun and I wish I could of have stayed longer at each one of them, but that’s life.

Yesterday I was suppose to go to a brunch event with Kiehl’s, unfortunately my photographer had to cancel our photoshoot Wednesday and moved it to Thursday morning. Which was the time of the event. I was bummed to miss it but I had a job to do. Since Lauren, my photographer, cancelled Wednesday I decided to make the day half work half leisure. I had a ton of credits left on ClassPass due to being gone for 10 days, so I decided to use some of the credits to get a massage. I really love that ClassPass offers wellness– they offer acupuncture, massages, facials, Cryo therapy, nail salons, meditation, etc. It’s nice to have. My massage was exactly what I needed. 45 minutes of pure bliss, relaxation, and recovery. I have not had a massage in a long time. I should be getting them once a month for how much I workout and because I have scoliosis. I used to get them regularly in college because I was dancing so much and my back would always hurt. Yoga helps a lot, but getting a massage would probably be better for me. I know a lot of my favorite fitness instructors get a massage once a week to take care of their bodies. It’s not just for pleasure, it’s self care.

This weekend is going to be jammed packed with fun! Today I have an event with Mi in the Box. Tomorrow night I have a holiday dinner party to attend– I am making my famous roasted balsamic carrots and maple bacon sweet potato (which I may take out the bacon because a few of my friends are vegetarian). Sunday I am attending church, going to yoga, and will then head uptown for holiday activities like seeing the tree and 5th avenue window displays.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend xo
