“Speak what you seek until you see what you said”

Happy Friday!! What a busy, fun week it was! Last weekend I went home to Ohio to celebrate my niece’s 1st birthday. The majority of my family was there and a few of my sister and brother-in-law’s friends. It was a nice party! My niece had cake for the first time and ended up running around screaming; I laughed, my sister recorded it on her phone, my mom was shushing her to calm down, and my dad jokingly screamed back at her. Good times. Besides the celebration I went to see The Greatest Showman with my sister and brother-in-law– SO GOOD!! Every syncopated detail was perfect, the dancing and music was fantastic, it was all truly amazing! I now have the soundtrack on repeat. It was also nice to see Zac Efron sing and dance without being the only one over 20 with out a kid in the theater…. #highschoolmusicalforever.

This past week was filled with lots of events and come hard core workouts. Wednesday afternoon I stopped by the AFRM offices in midtown to view their spring collection. Keep a lookout for it as there will be a lot of gorgeous prints in different fabrics and silhouettes. After viewing their collection I hopped over to Flatiron for the B Floral event with Lilliana Vazquez (from The Today Show). It was a cute event as we were allowed to grab whatever floral jewelry that was displayed like crowns, earrings, bracelets, etc. to wear during the evening. I opted for a headband and a floral ring. After dressing myself as a garden I went over to Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon for the MyLifeOOO event with Dunkin’ Donuts for tea time. Dunkin’ Donuts has introduced a bunch of new flavored teas to their menu, which we got to try. When it comes to tea I will only drink green tea and matcha, nothing else. I have never taken to the likings of black or flavored teas.

Thursday morning I got to workout with Old Navy and Anna Kaiser, owner of AKT InMotion. I have heard of AKT before and that it was challenging, but have yet to take a class. During the event we did a 20 minute express session that was hard… a lot harder than I thought. After 20 minutes I turned to my friend and said I couldn’t imagine taking a full class. That I was dying only after 20 minutes. Naturally this meant that I went home and signed up for a class this coming Monday. Pray for me! Anyway, Old Navy introduced new items to their activewear collection and we were able to wear a few pieces from it during the workout. I wore this sports bra (in red multi) with matching leggings.  They also had some yummy healthy treats–   I was all over the quinoa bites, so good! The entire morning was fun and I am happy I was able to try AKT! Speaking of trying new exercises, that night I went to The Rope by Amanda Kloots for the first time. You may have noticed that I have been frequently attending The Dance by Amanda, and have been a little hesitant to try The Rope as I am not a double dutch professional. I enjoyed the class and loved how different it is from anything else I have done, but I was having trouble figuring out the appropriate length of the jump rope for me. We only did about 4 songs jumping and the rest was using the rope as resistance bands (which I really liked). I kept wiping myself with the rope, that I was not a fan of. The little girl in me is very disappointed that my jump roping skills are not what they used to be. To be fair when I jump roped as a kid it leisure jumping with the double jumps in-between, not the single jump which is what we were doing. I definitely want to go back, but this time I am going to wear bubblewrap.

This weekend I have a friend from out of town visiting New York City on a girls trip. I am not sure what all her plans are but at some point I will be meeting up with her. I am at the end sober January and I have to say– I really do not see a difference. Yes I am not hungover or feeling bloated, but I thought I would feel much healthier than I do. After all of the events on Wednesday I went home that evening feeling sluggish like I would if I were to of had a drink. And it was hard not to. I walked in and saw the bottles of Veuve Clicquot, it took all of my will power not to get a glass. I am happy I did not drink though, and may want to continue to not drink as much during events. We will see how that goes during Fashion Week in a few weeks… Other than spending time with my friend  I am going to an hour and a half workout event Saturday afternoon with Amanda Kloots and Lauren Duhamel, owner of Legs by Lauren, at Studio B. Wish me luck as I will probably die.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! XO
