The best part about NYFW is people watching. You have the most fashionable people on earth all in one location. Some of them are out of this world with their weird outfits, some people I wanted to drop to my knees Wayne’s World style and yell “I am not worthy!”, and some folks were dressed exactly how I would. People care what you wear yet don’t care at the same time. Anything goes honestly. The only thing that matters is you rock what you are wearing. If you feel confident and look confident you will be fashionable to someone. I go to shows and see a girl in ripped jeans and sneakers sitting next to a girl in a cocktail dress with high heels who is sitting next to a girl wearing a million layers. Anything goes.

Finding something to wear to fashion week is exciting yet so stressful. I end up buying a ton of items just to have and then return the ones I do not wear— it is nice to have backups. I also plan what day/event I wear this or that. It is also a time to step up your game a little, but still stay true to yourself. My style is classic and feminine, so you won’t see me in a statement t-shirt or ripped jeans.

When searching for items to wear to fashion week I wanted to buy things that I knew I would wear again. Especially during the winter when really your outer wear is the most important. I have been eyeing this military-inspired skirt from Club Monaco for a while now. This skirt, I knew, would be perfect for fashion week as it is currently in style but also sharp looking and can be dressed up or down. I wore this simple turtleneck with it because I love a good turtleneck and it looked more polished. But I would also pair this skirt with a feminine ruffle blouse or a top with statement sleeves. Since it is oh so cold outside I paired the outfit with my new favorite over the knee high boots from Stuart Weitzman– which I wear all of the time. Wearing this outfit I felt very Ali MacGraw; preppy, feminine, yet sophisticated. An outfit I will definitely be wearing again and again.
