Hello 2017! Like always in the beginning of the year I feel optimistic about the future. 2016 was a pretty good year for me, which is a blessing compared to the general feel for the year. A lot has happened both good and bad the past year. It started off with a tragedy of a good family friend and ended with me moving to New York. I was the happiest I have been and the saddest I have been. But looking back I only see the year as growth and progress towards the life I want and crossing off items off of my bucket list.
When I look back on my goals for 2016 there is still a lot I have not accomplished, some goals I easily crossed off, and some, to be honest, no longer suite me and was never attempted. That is the thing about goals, they start off with good intentions, but as life progress they are modified, changed, let go of or are strived for. I think setting goals is more about setting intentions rather than crossing off certain items. The intent of how you want your life to become.
For the past two to three years I have had the intent to “make it happen”. I made my blog to what it is today, conquered my health, moved back to NYC, experienced some of what I wanted to, and started to live in the moment. Now I want my intent to be “yes”. Say yes to new opportunities, invitations, new people, and changes. To dive in and take risks, to go after what I want, or to not push things away because I am afraid. To say yes to friendships and love, to trying something new, to going places where I may not know anyone. And most important, say yes to my future and forget about the past. Say yes to leaving people behind to open doors for better relationships and friendships. Say yes to being happy. Say yes to loving, unapologetically, myself. Say yes to the life I want and deserve.

Of course I will still have my goals that I have written down for the year for my blog, travel plans, weight loss goals, try this or that, but I think that it will all come true when I have the mentality of YES! Enthusiastically YES to all the good that will come into my life.
What are your goals/intentions for the year?!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I hope you can make all your goals and dreams come true in 2017; congratulations on the big move to New York by the way!
