I am back home after a great trip to Atlanta. It was so much fun hanging out with my sister and brother-in-law, getting to see where they live and getting reacquainted with the city. It has been over 20 years since I have been to Atlanta where my cousins used to live.  It was nice to see how much things have changed and if I remember any of it. We walked around the Olympic Park (fun fact: I went to the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta), part of the park I remember, but mostly it looks completely different.

Besides the Olympic park we drove all the way to Covington, GA to tour the one and only Mystic Falls. If any of you are Vampire Diaries fans, Covington is where they film the show. My sister and I… well also my brother-in-law but he will not admit it… have watched the show since the beginning. It was pretty cool to see the set in person, although we unfortunately did not get to see any of the cast members or them filming. We did get to eat at the famous Mystic Grill and toured the Lockwood Mansion, which is beautiful. After Mystic Falls we drove to Buckhead to tour the Swan House. I will talk more about the house in a later post.

We, of course, went shopping and I picked up a few fall pieces. Atlanta gets seriously hot, like 90 degrees by 8am. Thinking of fall pieces was a little hard to do when you fell like your skin is frying. But here in Ohio it is time to start transitioning into fall. This lace top and windowpane skirt is perfect for this time of year. It is light enough for warmer days, but not too summery for colder days.

I have started a serious love affair with Victorian style tops. They are in style at the moment, but I just love the femininity of it. The detailing of this lace top is really beautiful. I can see myself pairing it, once it gets colder, with skinny jeans or even my leather leggings. The windowpane skirt, a piece that is always in style, I can wear well into the fall by pairing it with a sweater.

It is nice to be back home, but I miss my sister and brother-in-law already…. oh wait they are coming to Ohio today for my mom’s 60th birthday weekend celebration 🙂
