When it comes to health, what I put on my body is just as important as what I put into my body. I want to apply products that contain ingredients that will benefit my skin, not poison it. Most products used today contain harmful ingredients, such as lead, that has been linked to cancer, hormone disruption, reproductive issues, and so on. Since 1938 the US has not changed their federal law to regulate chemicals used in personal care. Think about all of the toxic chemicals and diseases we have discovered in the past 80 years. It’s a little unsettling. But take away the chance of being seriously harmed from the toxic chemicals in my makeup and skincare, I have sensitive skin and the more products I use the more I breakout. Trying a new product freaks me out. I cautiously test products only after I research them throughly. Even the best rated brands can cause a major breakout.

*if you want to learn more about the makeup we use today, I HIGHLY suggest listening to the podcast Stuff You Should Know. They have a very informative podcast on the history of makeup–Warning: it will completely make you want to throw out all of your current makeup/skincare products.

When my friend Lauren, owner of LOLO PR//Events, introduced Beauty Counter to me, I was a little hesitant. Even after I attended an online BC Social to learn more, I was still hesitant. It took a month or two after learning about their products that I decided to contact Lauren–who is also a beauty consultant–to sample a few products. I tried the nourishing night cream, vibrant eye perfector, and the nourishing cream exfoliator . And I have to tell you, I have found my new skincare line. I ended up buying the night cream and love it. It does not make my skin feel greasy or leaves my skin feeling dry, and it does not make me break out. I only wanted to start with one product and use it for a while to see if it ended up irritating my skin at all. It does not.

Beauty Counter has banned over 1,500 harmful chemicals that are found in most products we use daily.  BC is safely screened and is safe from toxins and scary chemicals.  80% of the ingredients is organic, natural, and plant-derived.  After learning so much about the dangers of what we put on our skin, and what I can do to prevent any harmful damages and live a healthy life, I now want to change my entire skincare line with Beauty Counter.
