For me wearing white starts on the first day of spring. Waiting until Memorial Day is no longer a rule,  at least in my book. To give you a little background history the rule started in the 1930’s when the rich would wear only white from Memorial Day to Labor Day to distinguish themselves from the working class. It gave a clean look of leisure. Well our fashion has most certainly evolved over the years, and wearing white only at a certain time is a rule that no longer applies.

Over the weekend I attended the Columbus Derby Day party (which was a complete blast!), and I was so delighted to see some women wearing white dresses. A white dress is my stable piece in the summer. I always look for a new dress or two to wear either during the day or for the evening. White is not only simple to wear, but I find to be very chic and classic. Right now I am lusting over these high-waisted shorts and this romper. I also want a pair of mule heels and these may be the ones I purchase. They are one of summer’s biggest trends and ones that I am totally on board with. I also want this clutch… I mean how ADORABLE is this little blue turtle?! A cute accessory and pop of color to wear with your white dress!

Do you wear white before Memorial Day?
