Summer is the time for taking a good book (or two) with you to the beach or the pool for some much needed relaxation. From fiction or self help books, I am someone who enjoys pleasure reading. Sadly I am not a part of a book club (sigh), luckily I have all of you to share book recommendations with!
The official kick off to summer starts this weekend and I am so so so excited! I love summer; flowy dresses, sun-kissed skin, swimming in the pool, cookouts, drinking rosé on rooftops, biking around the city, picnics in the park, fire works….. I could go on. I am ready for summer to begin….. after I get a new air conditioner.
Summer is my favorite season to shop for. From ruffle dresses to seersucker prints, off the shoulder tops to sandals, there is endless amounts of options. I think 90% of my wardrobe consist of summer clothing. Anyway, summer is always filled with lots of events, parties and trips so I like to be prepared for it all. I always have a dress or two on deck that can be worn casually or in the evening. I am in need of a new swimsuit and am loving this one-piece trend. Bows and white dresses are a few of my favorite things. And one can never have enough statement earrings and pretty shoes.
What I am looking most forward to this summer are my trips. I will be going home to Columbus for a week in July, and will spend a few weekends in the Hamptons with friends. I want to add one more trip this season, hopefully to Charleston, but am open to going anywhere fun! We will see!

Happy Friday!! Tis the season for events apparently. It seems like everyone is trying to cram their events in this month before summer officially starts and all of New York migrates out of town. I have had 5 events this week, and they keep on coming. I can’t complain though, I love every single minute of it.
To me there is strength in being feminine. I feel even more confident and powerful wearing girly details such as bows and ruffles than I would in an all black. Confidence does not come from what you wear but how you wear it. This casual girly look is one that I feel most myself in– confident and feminine.
