“one day everything will make sense. Until then, keep going”

Happy Friday!! After having a wonderful relaxing self-care weekend of infrared saunas and getting the best massage of my life, New York was like lol nahh lets wake you up Monday morning with loud construction work, continuous honking, and we’ll throw in banging pipes for good measure. My zen-like mindset was out the door and I found myself screaming shut up shut up shut up. Ahh New York living… nothing like it. The rest of my week was not as crazed and my calming nature quickly resided. It was not as jammed-packed like last week with events.

Tuesday morning I traveled to Beverly Hills for a mini vacation. Well, sorta. The Beverly Hills Conference and Visitors Bureau had a pop-up at the Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central. They were promoting the luxurious life of 90210 and sending a lucky winner straight to LA for a 3 day vacation! What fun! It was a nice morning talking to the BH Conference and Visitors Bureau about the city and what all it has to offer. I have only driven through Beverly Hills, would love to vacation there someday. They had a raffle for a 5 day vaca that I entered… fingers crossed!! Da-na-na-na, Da-na-na-na (ksh! ksh!)

After having breakfast in Beverly Hills where I pretended to be at the Peach Pit, I went to Brrrn for their HIIT class. As I mentioned in this past post here, I am starting to incorporate more HIIT workouts into my regimen. What I liked about this class is that is it done in a 50 degree room. The low temperature has a ton of benefits, but bottom line you burn more calories. What I loved most about the workout we did was that we started off by sitting down on the floor while doing ropes. My lazy workout dreams come true. It was much harder than it sounds, but I love any workout where I get to sit or lay down or be on the floor in general. Standing is so last year. (we eventually stood up for the ropes).  It was a great workout and can’t wait to go back.

Wednesday morning I went to the Draper James Fall Collection Preview. They were kind enough to gift me this shift dress to wear to the event, and I have to say, it’s going to be my go-to dress for the summer. The fall collection looks amazing! They recently, in this past year, hired a new head of design, Kathryn Sukey. Kathryn used to be the designer for Kate Spade. Anyway, the past two previews (including this one) have looked amazing. It still has the essence of the classic Draper James look, but with more fun prints and styles. The preview was held at the cutest little cafe called Short Stories. I don’t know how long it has been an establishment in the Lower East Side, but it’s new to me and I am obsessed. I mean any restaurant that has pink cups and pink walls automatically gets my approval.

The rest of this week has been same old, same old– photoshoots (I am trying to make my photos more editorial.. been pinning a lot on Pinterest for inspiration), calls, meetings, studying, blogging, emailing… all the fun stuff. This weekend I am going over to Brooklyn for the annual Sip, Shop, Eat pop-up. Should be a good time! Other than that I have no other plans… except for crying or being angry or loving the end of Game of Thrones.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
