“alone, by herself she built the kingdom that she wanted”

-r.h Sin

Happy Friday! I am happy it’s the weekend! This week has felt….off. Is Mercury in retrograde? Everything and anything either was not working or frustrated me. I was not in the best of moods. It wasn’t that I wanted to steam roll people down the street, more like inner suffrage. It started last weekend and trickled throughout the week.

Last weekend I was dog sitting for a couple while they were attending a wedding. Everything was fine until I ordered a salad from Seamless (breaking Lent… which now I believe the following happened due to punishment.. only kidding, partially). I had the puppy sit while I answered the door, then the delivery guy started yelling at me because he didn’t like the amount I gave him, which I believe was a fair enough tip (insert eye roll). At first he wasn’t giving me my meal while he ranted and shoved the receipt in my face. Finally I said that’s what I gave and started to close the door when the puppy flew out. The man didn’t even try to stop her (I get you are mad about the tip but have a heart and help make sure a 4 month old puppy does not escape). I ran after her as the man would not stop and was about to open the door to the stairway. I finally caught her and walked back down the hall to the apartment, only to realize I locked myself out. It was on automatic lock. I didn’t have the keys with me nor did I have shoes on or my cell phone. I was screwed. I tried jamming the door open (because I obviously morphed into the Incredible Hulk).

Finally I knocked on the neighbor’s door to inquire about the buildings Super. He told me the Super lives in the basement, and called and texted him for me. No response. I took the elevator down to the basement and knocked on the door. By the way I was carrying the puppy with me the entire time. Anyway, there was no answer at the door so I waited for about half an hour.  I eventually gave up and went back to the apartment floor to make sure the Super was not there waiting for me. I knocked again on the neighbors door.  He told me the Super had not called back but he, himself, had to leave. So I was back to square one. I decided to try and pick the lock with my bobby pin because I can and have done that before. Unfortunately it did not work and the way the door is created you can’t slide a credit card through it. So I knocked on another neighbors door and asked him to call the Super for me. He did, no answer. After about 5 minutes the Super texted him back and said he does not have an extra key to the apartment…… umm come again? You ARE the Super. Later I found out that is not true, he does have keys (three sets to be exact).  We (the neighbor and I ) decided on the last resort which was a Locksmith. While I waited for the Locksmith to arrive, the neighbor was nice enough to let me in. I watched Game Of Thrones with him and his girlfriend for about 20 minutes. The Locksmith came and $334 later the couple had a new door lock and two pairs of keys. Awesome. The couple couldn’t of have been more understanding and nice about the entire situation. They were happy my first reaction was to go after their puppy. I couldn’t of have asked for a better puppy to have gone through this with. She let me hold her for the majority of our misfortunate adventure. I was convinced at one point she was going to pee on me, we were locked out for over an hour. Luckily she did not!

Sunday I felt like a truck had hit me. I think the high level of stress during that hour took a toll on my body, plus holding the dog for that long too. I spent the day relaxing and went for a run…where I tripped and rolled my ankle. Super. My ankle is fine, I can walk just hurts a little. Monday I did a system update on my computer which then lead it to go haywire. For some reason it kept kicking me off the Internet and Bing kept showing up as my search engine. I knew it was not my Wifi that was off, because my phone was fine and my roommates computers were fine. So I figured I must have a virus of some sort. I was suppose to go to the Molton Brown event that afternoon but cancelled my attendance as I knew I had to take care of my computer. I was originally planning on going to Apple but I had two things that were due EOD. One project should of have taken me an hour, maybe two to do. Instead it took me 5 hours because I kept having to restart my computer to get back on Wifi and then I would lose everything I just did. Again, awesome. Finally I went to Apple  the next day to get my computer fixed. He said I had a bunch of unnecessary downloads that could be causing the problem. He also told me to check my DNS because the IP address might be off. The IP address I have is what Spectrum gave me and has worked for a long time until Monday. I went home and did as he instructed to do– to take my DNS off automatic and create a test. I did so and it synced with my Wifi with numbers that were not the ones originally given to me. Now my computer works. I don’t understand technology sometimes…..

I had a lot of desk work this week and calls. I am still getting acquainted with my agent and we are drafting strategies for the next 6 months. I am very excited about this new chapter in my life, but I think a part of me is feeling overwhelmed and anxious. What gives me the most anxiety is how am I going to juggle all of this extra work coming my way by myself? I feel it in my bones that this was the right move. I’ve never had a bad feeling. It’s more of an excitement nervousness.

Wednesday morning I attended City Fit Life’s class at the new Energi Studio. Since Studio B is temporarily closed as they move into their new location, all of my favorite Studio B gals took their class over to Energi. Upon arriving I knew it was a cute place because the stairs are white…. and that is how low my expectations are of NYC buildings. That white stairs made me think this place was nice, ha. Well it turns out I was right. Filled with cute Instagrammable decor the place is beautiful. I had a lot of fun during Sarah and Natalie’s class. They changed the way they instruct class. Instead of doing follow along dance cardio, they are teaching one dance every two weeks. It felt like I was taking one of my old dance classes learning a routine and then performing it full out. It was a great workout! The studio is a little heated, not terribly that you feel dehydrated afterwards, but enough to immediately get you warmed. I loved it!

Thursday I went to DanceBody in the morning. I have been taking the Full Out classes this quarter, which is advanced dance cardio. I almost have two dances perfected, two semi-figured out, and two that I want to scream during it because I keep screwing up. I record myself and am planning on trying to learn them between classes. Unfortunately I was not smart enough yesterday to record the teacher who actually gets the movements right, instead I have me looking like I’ve never danced before. I am not the only one in class feeling this way, everyone is learning the dances and trying to figure them out. I am hoping by the beginning of May I will have most of them nailed down. If not, I am taking a private because it’s starting to feel personal between me and the dances, I must know them. Still I am having fun being challenged. I am loving the new Britney Spears dance that I have been sharing! So fun!

Thursday afternoon I went over to Pier62 where the carousel is located for Lela Rose Bridal Presentation. Lela Rose always comes up with the most unique and fun presentations. Last fall the bridal collection was shown in a park with a tea party theme. Her fashion week ready to wear collection was a dog show. Yesterday her bridal collection was shown on the carousel. We watched the carousel go around and around while a jazz trio played and cotton candy and pretzels were served. It was the most calm I felt all week. I stood there for about 20 minutes just watching the carousel go around. It was calming– the music, the slow pace of the carousel, the pretty dresses. I didn’t feel anxious or in a rush, just calm. Tranquilized even. I could of have stood there for a very long time. Besides me finally being calm, the dresses were a sight to see, so beautiful!! I already found my rehearsal dinner dress– now all I need is someone to propose to me. Anyway, the event was lovely and I am so happy I was invited to go!

This weekend I have nothing major planned except to workout and to go to church for palm Sunday. Then it is GAME OF THRONES!! AH I am so excited for it to come back, but like, ONLY 6 episodes… 6! Give us at least 8. I know the episodes are suppose to be longer but still, we waited two years for only 6 episodes. We deserve more people!

Have a wonderful weekend xo
