“Act in such a manner that you are living proof of a loving God”

Happy Friday! A lot went on this week, but most importantly a lot of self care happened. Last week when I went to the sound bath event at Bando NYC, one of the things Abigail said was to expect a strong surge of emotions. This is because you are releasing whatever is blocked inside you. Unfortunately for me this meant that I was extremely critical of myself. I was angry about everything in life, and then I was angry that I was angry and couldn’t stop. Usually if I am criticizing myself I can take a step back and let it go. This I couldn’t let go. I wanted to be critical, I needed to. In a way I believe this was me releasing negative emotions to make room for healing and more positivity. The things I was saying to myself I didn’t even believe really, I just needed to think it. Luckily for everyone who came in contact with me I was nice to– only mad at myself. This lasted for a little longer than I wanted to. It wasn’t until I attended the Almost30 Podcast event when we received Reiki healing that I finally stopped.  And now am as positive, chipper, and full of love as can be!

On top of being upset, I also was not feeling well (probably because of my emotions). I felt sick on Monday and spent most of the day sleeping it off. By Tuesday evening I was feeling much better and ready to attend my first Almost30 event. If you are not listening to Krista and Lindsey, you must. This podcast is truly my favorite and I have learned SO much from it. I have learned more about myself, my body, life, relationships, career, etc, through their amazing guests and from the girls themselves. I sorta knew Krista before she started the podcast. She owns the blog The Hundred Blog, and we were in a small blogger chat together. Quickly we realized that we were both from Ohio. She went to Miami University for college, while I went to Ohio University. I remember Krista mentioning she started a podcast and I kept meaning to listen to it but would forget. It wasn’t until a few months later when I started to hear about Almost30 from different friends that I decided to give it a listen. I am so glad I did! When I saw on Instagram Krista and Lindsey were going on tour and would be in NYC I signed up for their Wednesday night event. As time grew closer I decided to join them for their Tuesday night Modern Day Mysticism event– why not? I love what they talk about and the panelist were different. The event was held at WeWork in Dumbo and was a small gathering of about 20 people. The panelist were Alexandra Roxo, a transformational coach and healer, and Ruby Warrington, Author of Material Girl, Mystical World, and founder of The NuminousI didn’t realize at the time when purchasing the ticket that I have actually seen Ruby speak before at a ModelFit event. The evening was nice and we did a lot of breath work–  which I needed to calm my mind. I am going to go more into details about this and wednesday nigh’s event at a later post, but I am so grateful I went.

Wednesday morning I went uptown to the Hearst Towers for the Quiet Mark x Good Housekeeping event. Honestly I had no idea what Quiet Mark was and what the event was about, but hey you may learn something or meet someone new. Both of which happened at this event. I ended up meeting the Founder of Quiet Mark, Poppy Szkiler and had a lovely long conversation with her about QM, the environment, technology, and life today. Based in the UK, Quiet Mark is leading the path to conquer noise pollution. They are trying to get everyday products, machineries, and appliances to lower the sound. As Poppy said to me, we are over stimulated nowadays and as humans we are not equipped for it. The amount of noise we endure (especially here in NYC), is not good for our health. Quiet Mark’s mission is to change the amount of noise we consume on a daily basis. At the event they had a few brands that are already awarded the QM stamp of approval for sound quality like vacuums, silent instruments, blenders, laundry machines, etc.  It was pretty neat to learn more about sound waves and vibrations. We hear more than we think we do. Our brains only catch a few sounds, but our ear drums are catching more sound waves and vibrations. Think how often you put your headphone in your ears and walk around listening to music, then on top of the outside noises. 30 years ago, this wasn’t happening. The event was very interesting and I learned so much!

Wednesday night I attended the last Almost30 Podcast event at The Assemblage in FiDi. This time there was 150 people in the room, a lot bigger than the night before. The panelist was Millana Snow, reiki healer and speaker.   I remember Millana from her episode on the podcast and was so excited to hear her speak. She did a group reiki session that really healed the anger and self-criticism I was feeling. I will get more into details later about my journey during the meditation and healing, but it was an incredible experience. I am so grateful for Krista and Lindsey for not only their podcast, but for coming to New York when I needed this type of uplifting healing.

This weekend I am suppose to be going to Southhampton for a blogging event. I am on the fence on whether or not I am going to go. I won’t be leaving for the Hamptons until tomorrow morning, so it will be a game day decision. It is suppose to rain in the Hamptons this weekend which is steering me towards no. We will see! If I stay here in town I will be working out, grabbing drinks with friends, going to church, and relaxing. Oh and shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! It finally opened to the public— so don’t forget to shop my must have items here  and my home decor items here!

Have a wonderful event!! XO
