Happy Friday and happy beginning of summer!! This week got off to an awkward start. Monday morning while working out at Body by Simone, not even 10 minutes into the class we were dancing and I tripped over my own two feet and fell flat on my butt. I laughed, shrugged, and said “eh Mondays”. It did scare me a little as I saw my ankle roll and I thought for a second that I sprained my ankle because, well, it’s me. Luckily I did not just tweaked it a little. I iced it when I got home and stayed away from cardio from most of this week just to be on the safe side. All those years of dance lessons finally payed off.

Luckily the rest of Monday was free so I could ice my ankle and get work done. I was pretty proud of myself on how much I work I finished. I knew the rest of the week was going to be busy so I wanted to be on top of things– unlike last week when I could barely got a blog post done. Balance? Anyway, Tuesday afternoon I went to the Blank Slate Tea matcha happy hour event. You say matcha and I am there! Blank Slate is a husband and wife team where their cafes are right next to each other in midtown. There is Blank Slate Coffee and Kitchen right next to Blank Slate Tea. The tea bar’s decor is all pink interior. A little more girly than the cafe’s decor. The tea bar offers a variety of teas, matcha, kombucha, and more. They also serve pastries and grab-and go meals. I tried their pink hummus GF toast with a rose tea latte, both were so good! I highly recommend going there (especially for some cute instagrammable moments). Through the rest of June they are offering a secret sip giveaway only through IG. If you mention the word “bobagram” you will receive boba (bubble tea) in any iced tea or beverage.

That evening I stayed in midtown to go to the Dream Hotel’s PHD Terrace for their Aperitivo Tuesday event. In front of the hotel they had a painted convertible car of Italy filled with lemons and flowers. Inside they changed the decor to look as if you were vacationing in Italy. The party was so much fun! There is nothing I love more than to have a glass or two on a rooftop in the city during the summer. You get to see an amazing view of Manhattan that is breathtaking.

Wednesday I went to the Brooks Brother’s secret pop-up shop. The pop-up shop was a bus that they parked around Madison Square Park. On the first floor was a shop for men’s polo’s and sport shirts. On the top they had a DJ, cotton candy machine, and free coffee. Also there was professional frisbee player Brodie Smith. I didn’t know frisbee was a professional sport, but here we are. To entice people to the pop-up they hid frisbee’s hidden all over the park for people to find. Once you found one you were given a free men’s polo shirt at the pop-up. After Brooks Brother’s I headed over to Tory Sport for a private shopping event. I am obsessed with Tory Sport (the activewear line of Tory Burch) for some time now. I have been eyeing the tennis line since I am a faux professional tennis player. The event was nice and I got to go home with this new workout tank which I desperately needed.

For the official first day of summer (yay!) I attended Lumos Kitchen Summer Fruit Brunch event. Lumos is a french inspired, modern Chinese cuisine restaurant in East Village. The place is so cute with blue and white decor. The food looked amazing but unfortunately I was unable to eat any of it because I am gluten free, but from what I was told it was yummy! Last night I went to the Who What Wear x Sunglass Hut event at the Hotel Americano rooftop. It was a nice event, but I didnt stay long. For the first hour they had only a select few of us there for a private panel that including Mary from Happily Grey, Natalie from Natalie Off Duty, Vanessa Morgan from the TV show Riverdale (that I am obsessed with!), and Natalie Cantell, Fashion Director at Who What Wear. They talked about sunglasses trends, what they like and don’t like, how to style your sunglasses, and more. It was interesting to know they would all choose Ray-Bans as their classic go to. After the panel was done they opened it up for other guests to come in to celebrate the start of summer. I left right after the panel because I had work to do. I wish I could of have stayed longer since it was a gorgeous evening.

This weekend my mom is in town! We really do not have much on the agenda except to see the Met Gala exhibit and visit South Street Seaport. My mom has not been to South Street Seaport since before Hurricane Sandy. Other than that the weekend will be filled with brunch, shopping, and walking around the city. Last weekend I had my resting day which was amazing. I didn’t do anything this past Saturday except watched TV. I needed an entire day to be lazy. It really rejuvenated me for the rest of the week. I don’t think I would be up for doing much if I didn’t have the time out. Even Sunday was mostly spent relaxing. I did go to Buvette with Emily for brunch then we went uptown to the Cooper Hewitt museum to see the Manhattan Color Walk. It looks like something you would see in a Dr. Seuss book. Created by the Color Factory each color represents a NYC street; 14th street was the color of pigeons, another street presented the color of a Barber Shop on that street, another was the bike path, etc. It went from the bottom of Manhattan all the way to the top. Pretty cool to see!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!! XO
