pink coat

Today marks my first day of New York Fashion Week! I have a few shows in the afternoon and an event later this evening. And so much more to come! The key to surviving fashion week during the winter is a large over-sized coat. And when that coat is a lovely shade of pink, you are set for the entire week. Pretty in pink, like the ladies of Grease.

To be quit honest I was not so on board with the oversized coat trend at first. Thought it would overwhelm my body. Then I realized my dream is to wear my duvet cover in public without it being social suicide. This is the next best thing. A big, comfy, warm coat that will keep you bundled while looking chic (and socially acceptable). This coat from Theory is not only pretty and comfortable to wear, it’s versatile. It acts as a peacoat and a cape, what more could you ask for!

I paired my new pink coat with this lace collar silk shirt from Kate Spade New York. A timeless blouse you could wear anywhere and with anything. I love the lace detailing with a dramatic bow– a blouse made for me! It makes my regular winter uniform of black jeans and my new grey over the knee boots from Tory Burch a more classic, upscaled look. And the pink oversized coat tops off the entire look with a pop of color.
