“The only reason we don’t have what we want in life is the reasons we create why we can’t have them.”

Happy Friday!!! Hooolllyy blizzard New York! That was wild yesterday. I went out to take some pictures and to get matcha tea, felt like I survived a war against mother nature…….. it was unacceptable behavior coming from nature to be honest. Anyway, after my brave excursion through the arctic circle (my block) I went back to my nice warm apartment to catch up on Better Late Than Never. If you are not watching Better Late Than Never you are truly missing out. By far the funniest show I have ever seen.

So far 2018 has been pretty good! I rang in the new year with a few of my NYC best– Elena and Ashley. Elena and her husband hosted a small gathering at their apartment. It was the perfect way to watch the ball drop– no fuss just good people, good food, champagne, and party outfits. I couldn’t ask for a better way to start the new year! We had a wonderful time laughing and planning our 2018 travels– excited for what is to come! It got so wild that night, I even ate Fritos with Velveeta cheese. Hellllo 2018. All jokes aside I rang in the new year on a very happy note!

The happiness continued this week. First I FINALLY bought Taylor Swift tickets!!! I do not care what anyone says about Taylor, I will always be on her side– even when she lied about the Kanye thing, it actually made me love her even more. #TeamTaylor4ever. Taylor’s 1989 album felt like it was written straight from my diary and Reputation feels the same way. Taylor and I are two peas in a pod! To end this week Justin Timberlake dropped a new single that is SO GOOD!!! Been listening to it all morning. Personally it’s been a great week, I can’t complain.

Besides my musical happiness, I unfortunately am dealing with a bad case of winter skin. I have a small irritated dry patch on the left side of my chin. It started right before Christmas and kept getting worse. I decided this past week to go get a facial to figure out what is going on. I went to Hey Day for the first time and absolutely loved it! Hey Day is the new “dry bar” of facials; quick, tailored to your skin, and affordable. I went in for a 30 minute facial and left feeling completely satisfied. My facialist was very knowledgeable about what was happening to my skin and explained it in a way that I understood. Then she tailored my facial to target my dry patch, she even used LED lights to spot treat it. Leaving there I already saw a huge difference. I am SO grateful I went! Honestly I am pretty embarrassed about this patch of dry skin but have high hopes that this thing will heal soon and I can rejoin society. I bought a bunch of nourishing sheet masks and the facialist gave me some products to take home. Spa weekend here I come!!

This weekend I am going to take it easy. I really am trying not to be outside for too long as I heal my skin. I’ve also kick started my new back to healthy lifestyle and sober January. I am loads of fun right now….. One of my 2018 goals was to cook more and this past week I have cooked dinner 3 times already. I am off to a good start! Anyway, next week I am flying back home to Columbus for my niece’s 1st birthday. For family reasons we are having it in Columbus instead of Atlanta where they live— which totally screwed up my southern tour that I was going to start next week. Guess that will have to be postponed. I am so excited to celebrate my little buddy’s bday! BUT before I head home I am seeing Bette Midler in Hello Dolly!!!!! Ahhhh I can NOT wait!!!! Bette takes her final bow this week and I knew I had to see her before she does.

Hope your 2018 has been off to a wonderful spot! Have a wonderful weekend!
