This past year I have neglected pleasure reading. So sad, I know! I am usually one who loves to pleasure read and will read book after book. For some reason this year I really dropped the ball. I have been reading the same book Power Your Happy for way too long– the book is good, I just have not made myself sit down to finish it. Now that the weather is getting colder and my desire to be outside will dwindle, I want to get back into reading. These are the 4 books I currently have on my radar to read next.

books

1. rJoJo Moyes Paris For One Nell finds herself alone in Paris after her boyfriend fails to show up. Being this is her first time in Paris, Nell has the adventure of a lifetime. I love JoJo Moyes books and am excited she has written one about Paris. I too have never been to Paris and am dying to go. I feel I will relate to Nell discovering this romantic city for the first time.

2. Gabrielle Bernstein The Universe Has Your Back: I am a sucker for self-help books and am no stranger to the teachings of Gabrielle Bernstein. I have read a few of her other books and found them to be inspiring, I assume this to be nothing else than amazing. Bernstein’s books can be a little too woo-woo for me, but I still find her lessons and thoughts on life to be interesting. This book helps you find support, safety, and joy in certain situations, knowing that the universe is putting you through things for the good and always has your back.

3. Shari Lapena The Couple Next Door: Anne and Marco are at a dinner party next door when a terrible crime happens. I get the feeling this book will be just as good and suspenseful as Gone Girl or The Girl On The TrainThis is a book one won’t be able to put down.

4. Alice Hoffman The Rules of Magic: This book is about Jet and Franny (who are the elderly ladies in Practical Magic) set in the 60’s in New York City. After visiting their aunt, the sister’s start to uncover family secrets and discovering who they truly are. This is the prequel to Practical Magic, which is one of my favorite movies. This book is about magic, love, and discovering your true self.
