“I choose to make the rest of my life the best of my life”

-Louise Hay

Happy Friday and happy beginning of the Nordstrom Sale public access day! What a week folks… what a week. Just call me Maggie “don’t have time” Tate. I have been running around from meetings to events to work to my tennis lesson to whatever else I had on my schedule this past week. I can’t complain though, it is the good kind of busy. I enjoy what I am doing, but I do miss being lazy and binge watching Netflix……the complexity of life.

Yesterday I went to the SAKS event with B Florals. I went with my friend Andrea, from A Slice o’ Pi. I haven’t seen Andrea since the Cartier event back in May, so it was nice to catch up with her while making pretty floral arrangements and sipping on champagne. The event was beautiful and intimate. B Florals had cute, floral jewelry like rings, bracelets, barrettes, and crowns for us to wear during the event. You may want to sit down for this…. but I did not choose the crown, I wore a bracelet instead. Shocking, I know. After the event Andrea and I hopped over to Pret for a quick bite to eat. I had a great time and loved catching up with Andrea. Not a bad way to spend a Thursday afternoon!

I had my second tennis lesson this past Monday. Lets just say I am starting to understand the technique but still not the worlds greatest. I was a little flustered during my lesson because I was 5 minutes late (and I am OCD about being late)  due to a prior meeting that went longer than expected.   It kind of threw me off balance….. or maybe I just suck, but I am going to go with the latter. My serve is pretty good, which I think comes from my years of playing volleyball. Stay tuned for next week’s update!

The meeting I had was with my life coach Erin. I love meeting with her, I always feel so much better after I do. She is like a therapist/ friend/career coach/accountability/mirror/ everything else. We discuss my career a lot as she helps me align/priorities my goals, and to stay positive and motivated. But we also talk about my relationships, personal journey, health, etc. At the end of the session she had a deck of cards with her for me to choose one that spoke to me the most. Basically what I do is ask the universe for wisdom or some guidance to a question or life situation. I then punch the cards and shuffle through them until one feels right to pick. I picked the ones that made my heart skip a beat. We did this 4 times about different aspects of my life. One that I do want to share, which I thought was pretty neat, was what I should carry into my life. I picked courage. The description was for the courage card was to go after what I want, to step out of my comfort zone, to be open to love and life experiences. Sounds pretty much on point.

This weekend I do not have anything specific planned except work on my new blog design (bare with me aw I know it currently looks like a mess), working out, and maybe even go to church. When I lived in the city before I would go to church every once in a while, but haven’t done so since I have been back. I think this Sunday will be the day! Plus I need a little Jesus in my life after binge watching The Handmaid’s Tale and now that GOT is back. Last week’s GOT was amazing! I am obviously in love with John Snow, but like #TeamSansa all the way.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend xo
