One of the best parts about living in New York City is getting to eat at all of the amazing restaurants this city has to offer. One of the biggest questions everyone ask me when visiting is where to eat. While I am no Anthony Bourdain, I do enjoy trying new restaurants.

This will be a new series for Blush and Blooms. A city guide for all the best places to eat, drink, visit, and shop in NYC. Hopefully this will be of interest to you all as I, for one, am always searching to “where to eat”, “what to do” on vacations. So for today I have shared three restaurants, I believe, are great to dine at if you are in town to visit friends.

COOKSHOP

Cookshop is one of my favorite restaurant in New York and it is the first restaurant I will recommend to anyone visiting. Their menu is seasonal, so it is always changing but I have never had a bad dish there. They have outdoor seating which is nice during the spring and summer, and the indoors atmosphere is intimate with dim lighting and close seating. I always order fish or chicken there and it is delicious!

BARBUTO

Barbuto is a great place to take your friends to drink lots of wine, and eat great good as it has a fun and open atmosphere. When there get the chicken with salsa verde, sooo good. Also hear the pizza is great but unfortunately I can’t have it (insert crying emoji). It is located in Washington Street, so take your friends there for dinner then hope on over to a West Village bar.

Union Fare

If this above picture does not entice you enough to go, I don’t know what will. Union Fare is on top of my list of restaurants to try. I have been there for happy hour but never to eat. But as I creepily look over the shoulders of those eating, I find that everything looks appetizing. I have looked through the menu numerous times and decided that the snapper or the lobster will be what I pick to eat.

The restaurant itself is huge, going from 17th and 18th street, with a dinning area and two bars. The downstairs holds two private rooms for events. The decor is super cute with hanging lights bulbs.
