Happy Friday!! My sister and brother-in-law are still in town, so I have been enjoying a lot of family time. Amanda (my sister) and my mom have been registering for her upcoming baby shower…. babies sure do require a lot. While they were shopping for my little niece I went shopping at Polaris Fashion Palace for an upcoming project I am doing with them.

Last night I ran my first 5K since my hamstring injury. Honestly I did not do as well as I thought I would. There were a few hills and stairs on the course and it took a toll on my leg. A little after the 2nd mile I had to start walking up the hills/stairs and then run the flats. My leg isn’t 100% ok all the time, but I have been feeling pretty good lately and have been runner longer distance. And to be honest I really did not train properly for the race. Ha, lesson learned. I was pretty frustrated and upset last night about having to walk parts of the course (I hate not performing at my best and I am competitive), but my parents were really supportive about it. They reminded me how far I have come—in May I couldn’t workout, I couldn’t even fast-pace walk, and I just ran a race where my time was not that far off from the last race I did. So I am looking at last night instead of as a failure, but as a positive baby step towards getting back to where I was before the injury!

This weekend I am going to the New Albany Classic with a few friends. I am SOOO excited to go as it is my first equestrian show! When I was little I went to equestrian camp but ended up quitting because of dance. I have always wished I stuck with it. Horses are my favorite animal (besides dogs), hopefully I get to pet one!

P.S–I will be snapping the entire event so don’t forget to follow me on snapchat @mtate24

Have a wonderful and happy weekend!! xo
