“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles, and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident,  more and more successful.”

Happy Friday lovelies!! I am almost finished with week one of my clean eating cleanse, and by cleanse I mean this….  hahaha 😉 I have to say, I really do feel amazing! I have more energy during my workouts, I feel lighter, and I am more positive! I originally was going to do this for only two weeks, but now I may add another week to it, although  I miss chocolate SO.MUCH.

2016 has been off to a bitter/sweet start. Lets first talk about the sweet parts. I have joined the Ladies Squash League at the ACC with a few of my club friends.  I have never played squash before, so I am excited to learn how to play. The first lesson is this Wednesday and you can bet your bottom dollar that I have been watching squash tournaments on YouTube to prepare #competitive. Besides my unhealthy determination to dominate the court,  I have a few birthdays and baby showers coming in the next month that I am so excited to for. Can’t wait to spend time with friends and celebrate their little bundle of joy!!!

Now for the hard part…… On NYE a family friend of our’s son was killed by a drunk driver. He had just been picked up by his friends and only a block away from his home when the drunk driver hit them. Luckily the others in the car are alive and recovering, but our friend died instantly. It has been an extremely sad week. When things like this happen, it is hard to find an understanding of why, and I am not going to pretend I even know, because I don’t understand it. He was in his early 20’s, just starting his life. What this all has taught me is to appreciate life more; Love deeper, hug everyone, forgive–somethings are just not worth the fight, tell people who you have wronged in the past you are sorry, reach out to someone you miss from your past, say what you feel, love yourself more, take more risks and go after dreams, be kinder to everyone, laugh more–A LOT more, be there for your loved one, realize the sun is out and the sky is beautiful, say I love you, turn the music up louder and sing or dance or both, learn as much as you can, fail as much as you can, travel, stay at home with your family, have more dinners out with friends, and be as happy and positive as you can be! Life is too short, this has taught me so, take advantage of the moment, you never know what could happen.

I try to keep this blog positive and upbeat because this is something I love to do and it always makes me happy, I went back and forth with whether or not I should talk about it, but I felt this was too important to not share. It really has changed me and my family. But most importantly, what I want to say is, please make smart decisions.

Besides this heartbreaking time, I have been feeling really inspired lately, making inspiration boards, setting goals, etc— I really have a good feeling 2016 is going to be amazing!
